The Barnsley Town Centre Races are a Friday evenings racing around the historical Barnsley Town Centre on the 15th July 2022
​
At 4pm, a social community ride will happen for younger families, after a ceremonial opening by the mayor
​
Here's the timeline for the competitive races throughout the evening
- 4.00pm - The Ceremonial Opening followed by the Barnsley Community Ride
​
- 5.00pm - Under 12s racing for 15 Minutes
- 5.30pm - Under 14s racing for 20 Minutes
- 6.00pm - Under 16s racing for 25 Minutes
- 6.45pm - Regional / Amateurs race for 45 Minutes
- 7.30pm - Womens National Circuit Series Race for 50 minutes
- 8.30pm - Mens National Circuit Series Race for 50 minutes

The Circuit
Barnsley will be transformed into a spectator friendly secure fully barriered racing circuit from 3pm on Friday night.
​
The circuits epicentre is Church Street, which will have an incredible atmosphere with an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, music and commentary taking you though the racings as it plays out.
​
The course takes on a number of streets around the town, from Eastgate, Regent Street, Mandela Gardens, Back Regents Street, Eldon Street, Market Hill and Church Street where a finish gantry will be erected.
​
The mixture of surfaces will provide all riders with an exciting challenge on this twisty, technical and fast circuit which will encourage frenetic and thrilling racings all night long.
Spectator info
There will be many thousands of spectators during the night giving us a faulous atmosphere throughout the town centre.
​
We encourage any spectators coming to Barnsley to travel in to town by public transport. Barnsley Crit has brilliant railway and bus connections via the Interchange. Bus services will still be running with an adjusted operating service.
​

On hand will be a team of volunteer helpers to assist you. There will be numerous crossing points around the circuit allowing easy navigation around town to all spectators.
​
Within the town will be a number of the UKs National Level Teams situated at the Digital Media Centre, allowing you to see your heroes getting ready.
